Continuous Care Through Team Work: The Clean Life Way

Last time, we talked about how training shapes the way we clean and care for your home. Today, we’re shifting the spotlight to another cornerstone of The Clean Life: teamwork. Because true care happens when every hand and every heart work as one. When most people think about cleaning, they picture one person with a cleaning kit, ticking off tasks until the job is done. But at The Clean Life, it’s never just one person, one clean, or one moment.     Because no clean happens in isolation. Every member of our team is part of something bigger: a culture of care, accountability, and support that ensures your home is always looked after – not just once, but continuously.     Here’s the truth: even the best cleaner can miss something. But when you’ve got a team, nothing stays missed for long. If one person overlooks a detail, the next set of eyes will pick it up. If something doesn’t feel quite right, it gets flagged, shared, and fixed – never brushed under the rug. At The Clean Life, teamwork isn’t just about the cleaners who walk into your home. It’s every single one of us – from our owners who lead with vision and care, to our finance team who keep everything steady and sustainable, to our admin team making sure your bookings run smoothly, to our marketing team sharing our mission with the world, and to the cleaners who bring their whole hearts into every home. We all lift each other up, and that’s what keeps our standard high.     We expect excellence, not perfection. And excellence happens when we show up for each other – when someone stumbles, there’s always another hand ready to help. We’re more than just co-workers; we’re a family. A family that has each other’s backs, in work and in life.       Teamwork doesn’t just happen – it’s built. Training is how we make sure every person feels confident and supported before they ever step into your home. From videos that teach The Clean Life way, to hands-on sessions with team leaders, to ongoing mentoring and check-ins – everything we do is about creating consistency. It’s not about one cleaner knowing it all. It’s about creating a shared language, so every team member can step in, support one another, and deliver the same level of care, no matter who’s in your home that day.     The most important member of our team is you. Your preferences, quirks, and requests don’t just get written down once – they’re securely recorded in our scheduling software so they carry through every clean. Only our admin team enters this information, and access is limited to team leaders through individual logins. This way, your home gets the personal touch you want, while your details stay protected. Want your dog kept safely in one space? Prefer your bed made a certain way? Need a room left untouched? Every cleaner knows, honours, and follows those details – because your voice is part of how we serve you, continuously, as a team.     Trust is fragile. We never forget that. When something goes wrong – and occasionally, it does – teamwork helps us respond with honesty and care. We don’t hide, excuse, or minimise. We own it, fix it, and make it right together. That’s also why your feedback matters so much. When you share it with our admins, it gets passed to the whole team, ensuring we learn, improve, and keep tailoring the clean to you – especially for our regular clients. Because lasting trust is built not just on spotless spaces, but on listening, adapting, and caring as one team.     Continuous care through teamwork is what makes The Clean Life different. It’s why your home doesn’t just stay clean – it feels cared for, week after week. It’s why our team members don’t just clock in and out – they grow, learn, and look after each other.     Because at The Clean Life, we don’t just clean homes – we care for the people who live in them. Every member of our team shows up with compassion and respect, not only for one another, but for you and the space you call home. We know life can be overwhelming. That’s why we step in as more than cleaners – we’re partners in helping you breathe easier, find calm, and feel supported. Your home is where you rest, gather, and heal, and it deserves the kind of gentle, continuous care that helps it feel safe, fresh, and truly yours.     👉 Explore our full range of services here: thecleanlife.com.au/services

Why Different Cleaners Might Be The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Your Home

“I loved the ladies who cleaned my house… I was so disappointed when you said I’d have someone new each time.” We hear this a lot – and we get it. We all want someone who knows our home, our quirks, and how we like the cushions fluffed. But here’s the magic: fresh eyes. At The Clean Life, every cleaner follows the same systems and checklists, so you always get: ✅ High standards ✅ Care and respect ✅ Attention to detail Different team members aren’t a downgrade – they’re an upgrade. Fresh eyes prevent complacency and catch things that might get missed. And yet… each person brings their own flair:     With us, you’re not just getting one cleaner. You’re getting a team, a system, and a rotating set of fresh eyes who treat your home like their own. And that’s why so many clients say: “I’ll never go back to anyone else.”     When I first started The Clean Life, it was just me – scrubbing, polishing, and making sure every corner sparkled. But as the business grew, I had to build a team. And that’s when I noticed something: clients could tell the difference when it wasn’t me doing the clean. Not because the team did a bad job – they didn’t. It was the little touches. The details that lived in my head but weren’t yet written down. That’s when I realised: if I wanted The Clean Life to grow without losing its standard, I needed to capture those details and turn them into training. So I documented everything – how to clean each room, the order, the finishing touches, even how we speak with clients in their homes.     Because while every team member brings their own personality, the standard and the steps always stay the same.     At The Clean Life, we don’t just clean homes – we care for them. And that care starts with our people.     When someone joins The Clean Life, they’re not just handed a mop. From day one, they step into a pathway for success – and for something bigger than themselves.Training starts with simple videos on the basics, followed by a 2 to 2.5-hour hands-on session with a team manager. It’s not just about cleaning – it’s about confidence, asking questions, and understanding the why behind what we do. A short quiz ensures they’re ready before stepping into someone’s home.     But the learning doesn’t stop there. After a few months, team leaders recommend those ready for more responsibility. Managers then do unannounced assessments during real cleans. Passing means pay rises or leadership training; if not, it’s more support until they’re ready. In an industry where standards are often low, we believe training, growth, and care are non-negotiable.     At The Clean Life, no clean happens in isolation. If something’s missed, the next team picks it up and shares it back – everyone holds each other accountable. That raises the standard for all of us.     We don’t expect perfection, just excellence. Every day is a chance to learn, improve, and grow. More than a team, we’re a family with each other’s backs – in work and beyond.     Every home is different – and your preferences matter. Whether it’s how you like the bed made, which rooms to leave untouched, or where your pup should stay safe, we record it once and make sure the whole team sees it. That way, your home is cared for your way, every time.     We aim for excellence – but we’re also human. If something ever goes wrong, we don’t brush it off. We take responsibility, make it right, and always protect your trust. Because honesty and care are at the heart of everything we do.   At the end of the day, training sharpens our skills, teamwork keeps us united, and trust grows stronger when we value your notes and handle every situation – even the tough ones – with integrity. Your trust means everything. And protecting that trust matters more than anything else.  Training is just one of the ways we show care in action. In the weeks ahead, we’ll go deeper into the values that shape how we work – from the way we collaborate as a team to how we build lasting trust with every client. The Truth: Even Tidy Homes Deserve Care

We often hear: “I’d love to hire help… but my house isn’t that bad.” “I should clean up before the cleaner comes.” “I’d be too embarrassed for anyone to see my place like this.” A clean home is not a reward for letting things get “bad enough.” It’s an intentional choice for well-being, ease, and peace of mind. When you invite care into your home, you’re not admitting defeat – you’re setting a standard that your space, and your time, are worth it. Some of our clients are naturally tidy. → They fold towels just so. → They wipe benches as they go. → Their cupboards could win Pinterest awards. And guess what? They still hire us. Why? ✅ Because they’re busy. ✅ Because they’d rather spend Saturday at brunch than scrubbing an oven. ✅ Because their time is precious – and they know it’s okay to ask for help. It’s about breathing easier. It’s about having more time for what matters most. It’s about giving yourself permission to rest. But at The Clean Life, we believe clean can feel like care. Realising you’re not the only one carrying the load anymore. The quiet joy of stepping into a room that greets you with calm instead of chaos. The smell of fresh air instead of last night’s cooking. Breathing easier, knowing everything’s safe for your kids and pets. Seeing clear benches and finally having space to think. That’s why The Clean Life exists – because cleaning isn’t just about spotless sinks. It’s about creating homes that take care of you, the way you take care of everyone else. If you’ve been waiting to “get on top of things” before asking for help… please know: you don’t have to. We’ve seen it all. → The laundry mountains. → The snack wrappers behind the couch. → The dust bunnies the size of small pets. And there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Hiring help doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re wise enough to know you don’t need to carry it all alone. 💚 Every home deserves care. 💚 You deserve support – messy, tidy, or somewhere in between. 💚 And you’re allowed to choose ease, simply because you want it. So whether your house is “not that bad” or feels overwhelming right now – The Clean Life is here for you. Exactly as you are. Ready to feel the difference? Book a clean that feels like care today! We’ll take care of the mess – so you can take care of you.

Your Home Isn’t Just A Home: It’s Where Your Nervous System Lives

You know that feeling when you walk into a cluttered room and instantly feel tense, guilty, or overwhelmed? That’s not laziness. That’s your nervous system responding to your environment. And science backs this up: When you live in a space that feels chaotic, your brain doesn’t get a break. Every pile of laundry, every bench that needs wiping, every room that feels “unfinished” sends little signals of pressure and failure. And that stress doesn’t stay in your house – it follows you. It shows up in how patient you are with your kids. It clouds your focus at work. It keeps you awake at night, wondering why you can’t seem to get on top of things. But here’s the good news: your home can also become your calm. When you start by changing your physical environment – even small, intentional changes – your nervous system gets the message: you’re safe, supported, and capable. The good news? You don’t need a picture-perfect house. Just small, intentional changes can shift how your nervous system responds. In fact: We hear this often: “I feel like I should be able to do it all… but I’m drowning.” You’re not alone – and you’re not failing. Life is full, messy, and unpredictable. Sometimes, the most loving thing you can do for yourself is ask for help. You might be ready for support if:

Why Pet Friendly Cleaning Matters To Us

People sometimes ask why “pet-friendly” is such a big part of what we do at The Clean Life. The answer is simple: because pets are family. I have two Siberian show cats – an absolute queen in fluff and personality. They are indoor cats, so my home is their whole world. When I’m not there, I need to know they’re safe, calm, and cared for. And I know I’m not alone in that. It’s the same for so many of our clients. When I used to clean homes myself, I’d often be there while families were out at work or school. I’d notice pets curled up in the sun, waiting by the window, keeping quiet company in their own little ways. And I could never walk past without stopping to check in – offering fresh water, refilling their bowls, or just sitting down to say hello. Honestly? It became one of the best parts of my day. Sometimes, they’d follow me around like little supervisors. Each with their own quirks. Their own rhythms. Their own quiet way of saying, “You’re in my home now – do a good job.” And so we built it into the way we clean – and the way we care: ✅ Check water and food bowls ✅ Make sure pets are safe, calm, and comfortable ✅ Use low-tox, pet-safe products for sensitive noses and paws ✅ Move gently, especially around shy or nervous animals Because we’re not just here to clean your house. We’re here to care for your home – and everyone in it. – Beckii (Founder of the Clean Life) At The Clean Life, being pet-friendly isn’t just a tagline. It’s our point of difference. Other cleaning companies might overlook your pets, or even ask you to secure them away during visits. But we welcome them into our care, just like we do your home. This is our unique service promise: We clean with heart. That means being mindful of your pets – not just the mess. We use only low-tox products that are safer for sensitive noses, skin, and tummies. We move with care around toys, beds, and food areas – because their comfort matters. We pay attention. If something’s off – like an empty water bowl or a nervous pup – we’ll do what we can to help. In an industry that often moves fast and overlooks the details, we choose intention. In a world full of “surface cleans,” we choose connection. Because we know your trust doesn’t just cover your countertops – It covers the beings you love most. And we never, ever take that lightly. Our clients aren’t just impressed by the shine. They feel the care – and so do their pets. “Great work. They gave my dog, Daisy, a lot of attention and made sure she was ok as she gets nervous about the vacuum.” – Ailsa G. “Thank you lovely ladies for doing a great job and putting up with the dogs. It was a pleasure to have you in my home. Quick, efficient, great clean, worked well around me and my dogs.” – Julie C. “I came home to a beautiful, sparkling clean house with everything in its place. The house also smelt lovely. It put a big smile on my face 🙂 The whole house was clean from top to bottom. Nothing had been missed. Attention to detail is fantastic. Even the dog toys had been lined up on the dog beds. I would love these 2 girls to do my clean every time. They are absolutely fabulous at their jobs. Thank you so much.” – Belinda M. “She was amazing !! Super sweet and managed to make my home spotless after weeks of no cleaning. Super impressed and happy and she was a sweetheart. The dogs loved her too. Floors were immaculate! Bed was beautifully made. Bathroom is spotless and she even unpacked the dishwasher 🙂 very happy.” – Astrid D. These might sound like small things – but for pet owners, they’re everything. If you’ve ever felt unsure about letting a cleaner into your pet-filled home… If you’ve ever worried about how they’d react… You’re not alone. Here are some signs your pet might benefit from a pet-friendly clean: Sneezing, itching, or reacting after a clean Hiding when the vacuum comes out Nervousness when strangers enter You worry about what’s in traditional sprays We get it. Truly. And that’s exactly why we do things differently. Our team is trained to move with calm confidence, to take cues from your pet, and to clean with products that are safe, gentle, and kind. Because your peace of mind matters just as much as your pet’s. These are our pets – the ones who greet us at the door after a long day of caring for yours. They remind us what it means to love unconditionally, to protect, and to show up with gentleness. So when we say we understand how much your pets mean to you, we truly, deeply do. They’re never “just animals.” They’re family. They’re comfort. They’re home. We’ve seen firsthand how much emotional support pets can bring. One of our own team members has an emotional support dog who helps her through episodes of depression. This beautiful pup is always there – quietly beside her, a steady presence on the hard days. That kind of support? It’s irreplaceable. And it’s one of the many reasons we take pet-friendly cleaning so seriously. That’s why we only use gentle, safe, low-tox products. We clean with compassion. We clean with care. And yes – if your pet’s up for it – we’re always happy to share a cuddle or two. Because we’re not just here to clean – We’re here to care. For your space, your peace of mind, and every little life within your walls. Whether you need a one-off clean or regular support with pets in mind, we’re here to help your whole household breathe easier. Get your free estimate –

The 3 Most Common Questions We Get (And Why We Totally Understand Them)

Real questions. Real answers. Real life. At The Clean Life, we’ve cleaned thousands of homes and met hundreds of beautiful families. And over time, we’ve noticed some questions come up again and again – and honestly, we love that you ask them. Because it means you care. You want to understand how we work. And you want to know what makes us different. So today, we’re sharing three of our most-asked questions – with the honesty, heart, and transparency we’re known for. We know how helpful it is to plan your day around a specific time. And we wish we could tell you the exact minute we’ll knock on your door. But here’s the truth: we refuse to rush your clean or anyone else’s. Here’s how scheduling works at The Clean Life: 4 days before your clean: We send a confirmation email and check in if you’d like to add or remove anything. We build our schedule by location: This saves fuel, reduces costs for you, and cuts down on driving time for our team – win-win! 1 day before your clean: We text you a 2-hour arrival window (e.g. “Your team is due around 11am – expect us between 11 and 1”). Why not an exact time? Cleans run longer when needed and we never cut corners just to stay on schedule. Traffic, weather, or urgent client requests can shift the day unexpectedly. We prioritise doing the job right over rushing through your clean to stay “on time.” If the window no longer works for you, we’re happy to reschedule or arrange a lockbox key drop. We want the process to work for you, not the other way around. Flexibility helps keep everything flowing. Bonus tip: If another client cancels ahead of you, we might offer an earlier spot. Totally optional – but it keeps things running smoothly. We hear this one often – and we completely understand. But here’s the thing: we’re not a one-person show. We’re a team. And that’s one of our greatest strengths. Here’s why it matters: ✅ If someone’s unwell, we’ve got it covered. ✅ If a cleaner goes on leave, we’ve got backup. ✅ If someone moves on, you’re not left starting over. We will make sure another trusted cleaner steps in. Every cleaner who steps into your home is more than just experienced – they’re equipped with care. Each one is: Trained in The Clean Life way – with a focus on thorough, thoughtful, and gentle cleaning Guided by your personalised client notes – because your home has its own rhythm, routines, and little details that matter. We take the time to learn them, so every clean feels just right for you. Aligned with our core values – care, respect, and professionalism are at the heart of everything we do So no matter who shows up, you can expect the same warmth, attention to detail, and trusted standard every time. Of course, we do our best to keep familiar faces when we can. But our real superpower? Reliable, high-quality service every time, no matter who walks through your door. What makes this model even better? Our team members hold each other accountable. They notice the little things, like hair in drains or missed spots, and they fix them without being asked. They care. About the standard, the client, and the cleaner who follows. And because your notes are shared between teams, your preferences follow you – even if your cleaner doesn’t. Want to help us help you? Keep your notes up to date by messaging our admin team – so the love and care you want stays consistent across the board. Totally fair question… and we hear you. Here’s the scoop: Your cleaner’s focus is cleaning, not admin. They’re mid-mop, mid-vacuum, mid-sink scrub. So even if you’ve passed on a request, they may not have time to: Write it down Pass it on to the admin team Or update your client notes – like adding “no bleach in the bathroom” to your preferences That’s why we encourage sending requests through the office, where we can make sure your cleaner sees them and your notes stay up to date. And because we work as a team, the next person might not know what you asked unless it’s logged officially. Here’s what you can do: ✅ Tell our admin team. They’re the only ones who update your file. And once it’s there, it stays there for everyone. No more repeating yourself. No more “I thought I mentioned it.” Just consistent, personalised service – every time. Pro tip: Need to change something last minute? Message our admin team and we’ll update your notes straight away. You deserve consistency and care. And we want to give it to you. At The Clean Life, we believe that how we treat our team shows up in how they treat your home. That’s why we invest in our people with: Loyalty bonuses (per hour for each cleaner): up to $1,500+ each year Plus $500 of rewards each month for 7 cleaners Monthly team rewards for kindness, consistency, and care Real career pathways: from cleaner to Team Leader or Manager Check out our winners for this month! We’re so proud of our team’s dedication and hard work! When your cleaners feel valued, they show up with more care, more energy, and more pride And you feel the difference. Not just in the results but in the experience too. You can explore more blogs here. We’re always adding practical advice, behind-the-scenes insights, and stories from real families we serve. Have a question we didn’t cover? Send us a message anytime. We’re always happy to chat, explain, or help however we can.

The Mental Health Benefits of Cleaning and Decluttering

Hey there, busy bees! We all know life gets messy, both literally and figuratively. Between work, kids, pets, and everything in between, our homes can start to feel like a chaotic whirlwind. But did you know that a clean and organized space can actually boost your mental well-being? Yep, that’s right! Cleaning and decluttering aren’t just about keeping up appearances; they have real, science-backed benefits for your mental health. Cluttered spaces can lead to cluttered minds. Ever walked into a messy kitchen and instantly felt overwhelmed? There’s a reason for that. Studies have shown that excess clutter can increase cortisol levels, the stress hormone, making us feel more anxious and mentally drained. On the flip side, tidying up can provide a sense of control, helping to reduce stress and create a calming environment. Less Mess, Less Stress Cluttered spaces can lead to cluttered minds. Ever walked into a messy kitchen and instantly felt overwhelmed? There’s a reason for that. Studies have shown that excess clutter can increase cortisol levels, the stress hormone, making us feel more anxious and mentally drained. On the flip side, tidying up can provide a sense of control, helping to reduce stress and create a calming environment A Productivity Boost You Didn’t See Coming We’ve all been there, sitting at our desks, trying to focus, but the pile of laundry in the corner keeps stealing our attention. Research suggests that a cluttered space can make it harder to focus and be productive. A clean and organized home helps you feel more in control, allowing you to tackle your to-do list with a clearer mind. Mood-Boosting Magic There’s something deeply satisfying about looking around your freshly cleaned home and taking a deep breath of that crisp, lemon-scented air. Cleaning can be an instant mood-lifter, and some experts even compare it to mindfulness exercises. The act of scrubbing, dusting, and organizing engages the senses, which can be incredibly grounding and soothing. Plus, let’s be honest: Who doesn’t love the feeling of accomplishment after tackling a big cleaning project? smoother and less stressful. Better Sleep, Better You Ever tossed and turned in a messy bedroom, feeling restless for no reason? The state of our sleeping environment can impact our ability to wind down at night. A clean, clutter-free bedroom promotes relaxation, helping you fall asleep faster and enjoy deeper rest. So, if you’re struggling with sleep, a little bedroom decluttering might be just what you need! Inclusivity in Cleaning: Making It Work for Everyone Cleaning shouldn’t feel like an overwhelming chore, especially for individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or neurodivergent conditions like ADHD. Small, manageable cleaning habits, like setting a timer for 10-minute bursts or using pet-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products, can make a difference. And if you need a helping hand, compassionate cleaning services (like ours!) are always here to support you. Final Thoughts: A Clean Home, A Happy Mind At the end of the day, cleaning and decluttering are about more than just aesthetics. The Clean Life: A Journey of Transformation and Empowerment

Being the founder of The Clean Life has been an incredible journey, full of unexpected twists and turns. Our story is a testament to the fact that life can take you on an unexpected adventure, leading to transformation and empowerment beyond your wildest dreams. Our humble beginnings were far from what you might expect from a successful business. The Clean Life started as a small, community-driven effort, driven by the desire to help others rather than chasing profits. It was one of those projects that began with noble intentions but soon evolved into something much bigger than we ever imagined.                               Life, however, has a way of throwing curveballs when you least expect them. Balancing the demands of running a business while taking care of three children was already quite the challenge. But one day, life took an unexpected turn, and I woke up to a shocking reality – I couldn’t take a single step. Can you imagine the shock of suddenly finding yourself unable to move in the blink of an eye? Eight long months passed, filled with uncertainty, doctor visits, and finally, a diagnosis: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). I was bed-bound, and my world had turned completely upside down.                         During this challenging period, we faced a critical juncture in our journey. We had to learn how to transition from a community-driven project into a full-fledged business. It wasn’t an easy feat, and it required significant learning and adaptation. We realised that merely wanting to help the community was not enough – we had to figure out how to operate as a business.                   Fast forward 18 months, and my health began to improve. I was fortunate that my condition had a viral component, and with time, I got better. However, we also realised that our business wasn’t performing as well as we had hoped. Our initial motivations were rooted in community support, and we weren’t experienced businesspeople.                     As we navigated these challenges, another unexpected opportunity presented itself. My partner suggested a unique idea – why not enter people’s homes and demonstrate how to use the cleaning products we stocked in our organic store? It was a way to not only help our clients with their cleaning needs but also potentially sell more products. At first, I was hesitant. I had a different career background as a hotel manager, and the idea of becoming a cleaner seemed like a significant step down. But sometimes, life leads you down unexpected paths, and I eventually embraced the idea.                     The turning point came when I entered a client’s house for the first time as a cleaner. It was an eye-opening experience, a true “aha” moment. Cleaning, which I had once underestimated, revealed itself to have more depth and meaning than I had ever imagined. It was like uncovering a new layer of a painting I thought I knew inside and out.                       Moreover, I discovered that our services resonated deeply with women who often needed help with household chores for various reasons. The desire to help people, particularly after my own experience of being bed-bound and unable to manage my own house, became a driving force.                                 The Clean Life emerged from this understanding that women needed assistance in their homes for various reasons, and my story was just one of many. We weren’t merely in the business of scrubbing floors and dusting shelves; we were about empowering women, extending a helping hand, and making their lives easier.                   Our journey, which started as a small community project, transformed into a mission to empower women. It’s a testament to the fact that, even in the face of adversity and unexpected challenges, opportunities for transformation can arise. Our journey was filled with twists and turns, each teaching us valuable lessons and profoundly shaping our perspective on life.                 As we continue on our path of growth and transformation, one thing that remains constant is our commitment to making a difference in the lives of the women we serve. The Clean Life is not just a business; it’s a story of resilience, adaptation, and the power of community and empowerment.                     We are driven by a sense of purpose that goes beyond cleaning homes. It’s about building relationships, providing support, and creating a safe and welcoming space for our clients. Our aim is to empower every woman who seeks our help to feel comfortable and confident in her own home.                                       The Clean Life is not just a cleaning service; it’s a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the capacity for individuals to come together and make a difference. Our journey continues, and we look forward to the new chapters that await us. Thank you for being a part of our story.

Wipe Off the Stereotypes: Women Empowering Women in Cleaning

Hey there, busy queens! Between work deadlines, family responsibilities, and that never-ending to-do list, it often feels like we are expected to do it all. But here’s the thing, women today are breaking free from old labels and proving that success is not measured by how well we clean a house but by the choices we make in our careers, homes, and lives. For decades, cleaning has been associated with women’s work, reinforcing outdated beliefs. But times have changed. Women are entrepreneurs, executives, creatives, and business owners, flipping the script on what it means to be in the cleaning industry. Whether launching successful businesses or advocating for fair wages, women are stepping up and redefining empowerment. The Myth of Women’s Work We have all heard it: “Women are just better at keeping things clean.” But let’s set the record straight. Cleaning is not something you are born knowing how to do it. It is a skill, like cooking or driving. And just because women have traditionally done it does not mean they should be the only ones responsible. The Deloitte Access Economics report, Remaking the Norm, highlights how gender norms have been a massive roadblock to equality. Women have historically been assigned domestic roles, while men were given career-focused expectations. But today, we are dismantling these outdated ideas, proving that gender should never define responsibilities at home or work. More women than ever are turning cleaning into successful businesses, redefining the industry with innovation and empowerment. From eco-friendly solutions to million-dollar enterprises, they are proving cleaning to be a lucrative and impactful career. Samantha Campbell, a renowned cleaning consultant, has also played a key role in transforming the industry. With her expertise, she has helped numerous cleaning businesses optimize their operations, implement sustainable practices, and achieve long-term success. Beckii Jones, founder of The Clean Life, built a highly successful business from the ground up. Since launching her company, she has grown it into a thriving enterprise. Through mentoring programs, she now helps others scale their cleaning businesses. Similarly, Charlotte Bosanquet, an entrepreneur from Western Sydney, turned her cleaning skills into a thriving business. After leaving university. After leaving university, she launched Care Cleaning Services, achieving financial independence. She now shares business insights with a large TikTok audience, helping others enter the industry. Beyond individual success, companies like Koh are pushing sustainability in cleaning. Under Charli Cohen Walters, Koh leads in eco-friendly solutions, prioritizing non-toxic products and environmental responsibility. These women prove that cleaning is more than just a service; it’s a space where innovation, financial freedom, and sustainability thrive. Women are making waves in professional cleaning and beyond, but let’s talk about what happens at home. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2024), women still do more unpaid labor than men, often leading to burnout. The mental load is real, and shared responsibilities are a game-changer. The Australian Government’s Working for Women and Victoria’s Safe and Strong initiatives advocate for balanced domestic duties (Gender Equality Gov, Vic Gov, 2023). When partners share the workload, stress decreases, and home life runs more smoothly. ANZ’s Elisa Clements emphasizes that kids learn by example. If mom does it all while dad “helps out,” children internalize these patterns and repeat them in adulthood (ANZ, 2023). Shared chores not only strengthen relationships but also equip children with essential life skills, fostering independence and respect from an early age. Beyond the home, professional cleaning deserves respect. WomenCAN Australia’s Working Future Program connects women to stable jobs in cleaning, aged care, and trades, empowering them with financial independence (WomenCAN Australia, 2023) Support, Not Stigma There is nothing wrong with outsourcing help. Whether hiring a cleaner, using meal delivery services, or dividing chores equally, choosing efficiency over exhaustion does not make anyone less capable. For many middle-class families juggling careers and personal time, professional cleaning services are a lifesaver. Women supporting women means recognizing that we all have different strengths. If one woman builds a successful business while another hires help to free up time, that is a win-win.
